History of Defiant Keyholder

Overview

Defiant Keyholder is a Triumph that rewards using a Defiant Key at the end of a Season of Defiance Defiant Battlegrounds activity. Completing the objective grants bonus rewards. It is one of the Quests triumphs counted toward the Queensguard title.

How to complete

1. Get a Defiant Key. Keys drop at random from Lightfall campaign missions, Terminal Overload in Neomuna, Raids, the Vanguard Ops playlist, Gambit matches and Crucible matches. They do not drop from Battlegrounds. You can hold up to five, so spend them regularly.
2. Unlock the playlist. Complete the story version of the first Lightfall mission, then visit Mara Sov on The Farm in the EDZ. After that the Battlegrounds playlist is available from the H.E.L.M. map.
3. Play a Battleground to the end. Each Battleground finishes with a chest. The key is used automatically when you open it, and it gives a piece of seasonal gear plus a standard Defiant Engram.
4. Launch from the H.E.L.M. playlist. Keys are consumed only when the playlist version launched from the H.E.L.M. map is used. Individual modes on the map, such as the Defiant Battleground: EDZ, do not consume keys.

The War Table reputation track also awards a Defiant Key at ranks 7 and 13, which is a second source if you are short.

Tips

• Keys improve your odds of getting Defiant Engrams, so use them as soon as the chest is available instead of letting them sit at the five-key cap.
• The Battleground Riches upgrade at the War Table gives a chance at extra engrams whenever a key is used.
