History of Dawning

Overview

Dawning is the winter event in Destiny 2 whose event triumphs are grouped under the Star Baker seal. The event has run each year since 2017 (per the wiki), with snowball, cookie and Dawning Spirit activities. The Dawning Spirit currency is earned by playing the event and spent at Eva Levante on Dawning upgrades.

How to complete

The list below comes from a guide to a past event year. Check the event card in-game for the current year, since triumphs and their counts change.

• Dawn of the Dawning: complete the introduction quests.
• Ice Cold Combat: defeat 100 combatants with snowballs. The snowball must land the killing blow.
• Bake-stravaganza: bake 50 treats in the Dawning Oven.
• Amateur, Adept and Expert Baker: bake 6, 13 and 20 cookie types.
• Shopping Spree: buy all 12 Dawning upgrades from Eva Levante with Dawning Spirit, 380 in total.
• Deep Freeze, Yarn Maker, Thundersnow, Snowmelt and They Call It sNOw: defeat combatants or Guardians with Stasis, Strand, Arc, Solar and Void.
• Vanguard Eternity: complete six Vanguard Ops or Dares of Eternity.
• Competitive Spirit: complete ten Crucible or Gambit matches.
• Snowstruck: spawn snowballs by defeating enemies in valid non-endgame PvE activities.

Rewards

• The Star Baker seal, which unlocks the title for all Guardians once its triumphs are complete.
• Event gifts and cookies, with rewards that change by year.
