History of Daito

Daito is a weapon foundry of the Last City, appearing in Destiny and Destiny 2.

Overview

• Destinypedia says it was probably founded in the Golden Age, citing dilapidated Daito billboards in the Buried City on Mars and the Shattered Coast on Venus; a Bungie forum lore post says its origins are unclear even to its employees. Both are inference rather than confirmed lore.
• It is led by Chiyoko Mey per Destinypedia.
• Standard Daito weapons are named after Earth cities with a type code and number (e.g. Calcutta-LR2).
• Products include the Exotic Scout Rifle The Jade Rabbit, the Rocket Launcher Two-Tailed Fox and the Moonfang-X7 armor; several carry a jade rabbit emblem. A Bungie forum post claims it mostly makes low-quality (Uncommon-Rare) arms and ship weapons.
