History of Cradle of Damnation

The Cradle of Damnation is the boss arena of the Pit of Heresy dungeon, where Zulmak, Instrument of Torment, is fought.

Overview

The arena is reached after the Necropolis encounter. Zulmak is protected by a plate of enemies, and the fight is split between phases.

Encounter

• Heretical Knight enemies spawn around Zulmak's plate and carry Cleavers. Killing them drops the Cleavers, which are used against the Broken Blade mini-bosses.
• The Heretical Knight is the renamed Accursed Swordbearer from the Necropolis, and it is named this way when met alongside Zulmak.
• Zulmak is invincible at one stage, so the Cleavers are needed to progress. During the damage phase, Void orbs dropped by Broken Blade enemies on the side stages are needed.
• When Zulmak kneels and plunges his sword into the ground or the central crystal, leave the central damage aura immediately. Staying inside it when the charge completes is lethal.
