History of Core of Corruption

Overview

The Core of Corruption is a sealed doorway on the Dreadnaught that players reach during the secret mission Writ: Path of Ambition, introduced in Episode: Heresy. The mission is unlocked by collecting a Taken Worm under the bridge in the Hall of Souls during Nether or Court of Blades.

Path of Ambition

The route passes through the Trenchway, which is infected with Blights. A renegade Xvaak (Hive Wizard, Waybearer) is attempting to unseal the chamber, and players must disrupt its ritual. It fights alongside two Acolyte underlings at the Core entrance.

Entering the Core transports the Guardian to a Blighted Cyst on the Ascendant Plane. Later, the Guardian returns to the Core doorway, where the entrance is sealed again.
