Overview

Contingency Plan is a Legendary Arc Scout Rifle built on the VEIST Rapid-Fire Frame (full auto, deeper ammo reserves, slightly faster empty reload). The curated roll is Smallbore, Appended Mag, Firmly Planted and Frenzy, and the weapon also rolls with random perks in its modern form: the Destiny 2 Wiki lists barrels such as Arrowhead Brake, Fluted Barrel, Hammer-Forged Rifling and Smallbore, and Destinypedia's roll table includes Accurized Rounds and Outlaw. Its quote, "The Traveler is an illusion. A false god. It will not save us. But this might," is from Arach Jalaal.

Acquisition

Unlike most Dead Orbit gear, Contingency Plan is a later addition. Destinypedia lists its first appearance as Season of the Lost and the Destiny 2 Wiki marks it Season 15, with acquisition from Legendary engrams and faction rank-up packages. Destinypedia still describes it as coming from Arach Jalaal during Faction Rallies, so check the weapon in game for the current source.
