Overview

The Destiny Content Vault (DCV) is Bungie's system for cycling content out of (and back into) Destiny 2 to reduce install size and complexity. It launched with Destiny 2: Beyond Light.

Beyond Light

Four patrol destinations were vaulted: Io, Titan, Mercury and Mars. Nessus remained. The Cosmodrome from the original Destiny returned. In the story, the planets were lost to the Darkness after the Black Fleet arrived in the Solar System.

Other vaulted content

Per Destinypedia, this also included the Tangled Shore and the Derelict Leviathan destination, the Red War, Curse of Osiris, Warmind and Forsaken campaigns, several raids such as Leviathan, Scourge of the Past and Crown of Sorrow, and activities like Gambit Prime and The Reckoning. Destinypedia also notes a later Bungie announcement that major campaigns, dungeons, raids and destinations would be taken out of the DCV, with timing unclear.
