History of Coldheart

Overview

Coldheart is an Exotic Arc Trace Rifle in the Energy slot, made by Omolon. Its intrinsic perk Cold Fusion fires a steady laser; the Exotic trait Longest Winter makes the beam deal exponentially more damage the longer it stays on a target, which suits it to bosses and other powerful enemies.

Acquisition

• Exotic Engrams as an extremely rare world drop. ProGameTalk also lists Fated and Luminous Engrams.
• Xûr occasionally sells it (Destiny Game Wiki).
• Reclaim from the Exotic Kiosk once collected.
• Historically it was a Destiny 2 pre-order bonus and was available during the Red War era; ProGameTalk notes those routes were removed.

Catalyst

The catalyst drops at random from Heroic or Nightfall Strikes. Finishing it takes 500 kills with Coldheart. It adds stability and reload speed (the two sources disagree on the amount: +18 per ProGameTalk, +20 per a search summary of a third site; Destiny Game Wiki says 18), and its Supercharged Magazine perk slowly moves reserve ammo into the magazine while Arc is amplified.
