History of Cold Steel

Overview

Cold Steel is a sword trait on Zephyr, Aurora Dawn and The Slammer. Powered Sword hits apply a Stasis slow.

On Zephyr, Cold Steel applies slow stacks for 4.25 seconds: light attacks add 40 stacks and heavy attacks add 60. Enough hits freeze an enemy, which helps against champions. Zephyr is a Stasis Adaptive Frame sword earned during the seasonal Dawning event. Aurora Dawn is a Stasis Wave Sword heavy from Edge of Fate activities.

Notes

In September 2024 a Bungie forum report said heavy attacks with a Caster frame sword such as Ill Omen did not apply slow to PvE enemies, while light attacks still did.
