History of Cleansed Essence

Overview

The Cleansed Essence is a Nightmare Essence that has been cleansed through its quest. The five essences of the Dreambane armor set each unlock one armor slot or class item once cleansed.

Essences

• Essence of Pride (helm): defeat Nightmares in lost sectors on planets other than the Moon. Not every lost sector there contains Nightmares.
• Essence of Isolation (gauntlets): defeat Fallen on the Moon.
• Essence of Fear (chest): defeat Hive on the Moon.
• Essence of Anguish (boots): complete bounties for Eris Morn.
• Essence of Despair (class item): complete Moon activities such as chests, resources, public events, lost sectors and patrols.

After all five essences are cleansed, the Dreambane pieces become available for purchase from Eris Morn. Dismantled pieces can be recovered from her or from the Lectern of Enchantment. The guide used for this page dates from Destiny 2: Shadowkeep (2019), so quest details may have changed since.
