History of Caster Frame

Overview

Caster Frame is the Sword archetype. Its heavy attack launches a projectile, and heavy attacks are stronger with full energy. Keeping energy full is the main skill with this frame.

Examples include Sola's Scar, a Solar heavy sword with a largely random perk pool, and Ill Omen, a Stasis Caster sword from the Echoes episode that can be crafted. A popular PvE pairing on Ill Omen is Cold Steel with Relentless Strikes. A Bungie forum report from 2024 says heavy attacks do not apply Slow stacks to PvE combatants on Ill Omen with Cold Steel; check whether it is fixed.
