History of Cabal Excavation

Cabal Excavation is a public event added in Red War. A Cabal-protected mining lander drops into the event area. Guardians must stay near the drill to override it, and more participants speed up the override. Missile strikes, marked by red circles, need to be avoided.

The event is listed in the European Dead Zone (Winding Cove) and on Nessus (Artifact's Edge), with vaulted copies in Io. A Neomuna version also exists, where it can be made heroic in zones such as Ahimsa Park.

Heroic version

At about 30% override progress, a Cabal Thresher gunship spawns and circles the area. Destroying it activates Heroic mode and spawns Excavator Valus, a Colossus. Defeating Valus completes the event, and capturing the lander is not required.
