History of Burning Pillars

Overview

Burning Pillars is a secret in the Dreadnaught's Trenchway area, tied to the Ogre Ascendant, a Dire Taken Ogre. Lighting the setup summons the Ogre, and defeating it reveals a secret chest connected to Dredging Up Secrets II.

Location

The Trenchway is part of the Dreadnaught mission The Nether from Episode: Heresy.

Activation

Reported layouts differ between sources. Destinypedia describes a trio of torches that have a chance to spawn near the entrance to Oryx's arena in Regicide, and lighting them summons the Ogre. Guides from the same period describe lighting pillars across the Trenchway instead, with the Ogre appearing once the other pillars are lit.

Rewards

Defeating the Ogre Ascendant opens a secret chest, and the setup is also linked to the second catalyst of the Barrow-Dyad Exotic.
