History of Blight

Overview

Blights are radiating substances of sterile neutrinos emitted by the Taken, appearing as crackling black liquid or vapor. They first appeared in The Taken King era of Destiny.

Mechanic

Spherical Blights generate fields that apply the "Shadow Touched" debuff: no sprinting or jumping and no recovery until the sphere is destroyed. Destroying them is part of the Taken Blight Public Event.
