History of Black Heart

The Black Heart is a Darkness-aligned entity at the centre of the Black Garden, a realm cultivated and worshipped by the Sol Divisive faction of the Vex. Lore describes it as a failed attempt by the Sol Divisive to replicate the Veil, resembling a massive floating globule of chaotic fluid crackling with energy.

History

• In the first Destiny game, Guardians destroyed the Black Heart, which helped restore Light to the Traveler.
• During the Taken War, forces of Oryx attempted to reawaken it but were stopped.
• In Season of the Wish, the Sol Divisive created a new Black Heart to keep Coalition forces from reaching the Pale Heart; the final season mission Closer to the Heart has Guardians destroy it again, together with its three guardian Minds (the Established, the Inevitable and the Synchronal). The Witness is said to have planted the seed that created it as a backup for the stolen Veil.
