History of Barrier Hobgoblin

Overview

The Barrier Hobgoblin is an elite Vex Hobgoblin, ranked Champion. It behaves like a standard Major Hobgoblin until it takes heavy damage. It then encloses itself in a dome shield that makes it immune to damage while it regenerates health, and it can keep firing during this phase.

Countering the shield

Anti-Barrier abilities, such as seasonal artifact mods, can pierce the shield. This staggers the Champion and opens a window to deal damage.

Appearances

The Barrier Hobgoblin debuted in Destiny 2: Shadowkeep and has since appeared in Destiny 2: Beyond Light, Season of the Splicer, Destiny 2: Lightfall, Destiny 2: The Final Shape, and Episode: Echoes.
