History of Asher Mir

Overview

Asher Mir is an Awoken Warlock and a researcher with the Gensym Scribes who specialized in the Vex. During an expedition into the Pyramidion on Io, Vex attacked his fireteam, his right arm was replaced with a Vex construct, and the infection spread through his body. His Ghost was heavily augmented. He later helped the Guardian destroy Brakion, Genesis Mind, the Vex Mind responsible.

History

During the Red War, Asher set up a research outpost on Io to study the Vex and helped the Vanguard respond to Taken activity there. He appears in Forsaken lore, where he reacts to the death of Cayde-6 at the hands of Uldren Sov. In Season of Arrivals, he studied a Pyramid that appeared over Io's Cradle and asked Eris Morn to look after matters if he died. He then entered the Pyramidion and was pulled into the Vex Network as Io vanished, and the Vanguard listed him as missing in action. He continued as a digital entity within the Vex Network and reappeared in Season of Defiance as a data entity.

Vendor

Asher was based in the Rupture on Io, where he exchanged Phaseglass Needles for Io Engrams and sold Io armor sets and one weapon that changed weekly. His vendor content has since been moved into the Destiny Content Vault and is no longer available in the game.
