History of Allegiance

Allegiance is the branching questline of Season of the Drifter in which Guardians choose between the Vanguard and the Drifter. The quest begins when the Praxic Order reprimands Guardians for their laissez-faire attitude, and it presents a Decision Point.

Unlike earlier faction rallies, the quest permanently locks each Guardian into one side. Neither side gives unique gear, so the choice is up to the player. Bungie said the quest may affect future content, but the consequences were unclear at the season's launch.
