History of Activision

Activision is the video game publisher that published the Destiny franchise, including Destiny 1, until January 2019.

In January 2019, Bungie announced that Activision would transfer the Destiny publishing rights to Bungie, which said it was ready to publish on its own. Activision said it would focus more on its owned IP. Destiny games released after the split are self-published by Bungie.
