History of AION

Overview

The AION Initiative was a research body whose members studied Kepler and the anomalies around it across many generations. The Kepler entry on Destinypedia says the Initiative discovered Kepler before the Golden Age ended and kept studying its anomalous properties, and that it established a colony once it could travel there.

The Collapse

The Collapse cut the colony off from Earth. The colonists learned of it about 1.7 years later, because of light-speed delay. They survived and came to call themselves the Aionians.

Legacy

The Initiative's descendants on Kepler live by the Tenets of AION, a lore book from The Edge of Fate that describes observation, hypothesis, testing and iteration as their method. They revere the singularity left by III, a member of The Nine, which they call the Holy Anomaly.
